Would you like to spend a day out of town, surrounded by the greenery of the well-kept gardens of a historic villa? And why not maybe taste the genuine and authentic flavors of the Alto Mantovano? If this is your wish, you can't miss the experience of a lunch at Enoteca Gonzaga in Volta Mantovana. The location is truly charming: a French-style garden where small tables are set up. Some are in the shade of the green arbor, others scattered among the well-kept boxwood hedges. Tables are spaced according to Covid regulations, ensuring privacy and quiet for a romantic lunch for two, but also for a tasting with friends. The wines are excellent, but the spritzes are just as good.....Have you ever tried the Lambrusco Spritz??? After lunch, I recommend taking a tour of the village: small but charming with all its ancient history linked to the Gonzaga Family.
Inside Palazzo Gonzaga you will find this small and delightful gem of a wine bar with kitchen.
The kitchen and wine bar live up to the location. Nothing pretentious, but definitely impressive! The mixed platters accompanied by the sbrisolona reinterpreted in a savory Parmesan version and the homemade flatbreads are really tasty.
